NTI teams take out first and second place in the 2020 Bright Lights Award at the Virtual ANZIIF General Insurance Breakfast

NTI Ltd, Australia’s specialist transport and logistics insurer, is excited to announce that on Wednesday, 2nd December, at the Virtual ANZIIF General Insurance Breakfast, NTI teams took out first and second place for the 2020 Bright Lights Award.

The Bright Lights Award is in its third year and provides an opportunity for general insurance professionals to pitch an idea or innovation in relation to claims to an industry based judging panel. This year’s entries saw the judge’s comment on the high quality and commercial acumen of entrants.

The winning team of Chris Levitt, Louise Scott, and Bipin Shangari prepared a PowerPoint presentation, with voice-over, showcasing an innovative idea called ‘Phoenix’.

‘Phoenix’ is a QR code that can be used by customers at the time of a claim to lodge and share information such as claim details, accident photos or consignment notes. It can also be used to upload a registration/purchase invoice as an automatic way of endorsing the new truck or piece of equipment onto the policy, or even uploading new driver details.

The team’s idea was praised by the judges for providing “the next level of customer claims support and connectivity”.

Giving the thank you speech on behalf of the team over video conference Chris Levitt said the team are, “totally over the moon and proud to take the award home to NTI.”

The runner-up team of Lynette Ozolins, Maria Van Metzinger, and Blake Hinton, produced an impressive video presentation on how the industry could address the large issue facing the motor claims industry in the form of third party credit hire claims, and the insurer’s responsibility over connectivity and innovation.

NTI CEO, Tony Clark, said he was looking forward to working with Chris, Louise, and Bipin, as well as Lynette, Maria, and Blake, to bring their innovative thinking to life.

“To say we are proud of these NTI team members is an understatement. Putting in the effort to pull together entries of such quality during such a difficult year is fantastic, and the industry recognition they received is not only a great reflection on the individuals, but also NTI.

“At NTI we foster a culture of expertise and innovation through one of our core values known as “Thrive”. It’s fantastic to see our people taking this on board and thriving in the industry,” he said.
